For many people, watching a medical insurance executive being put through the wringer (to say the least) was cathartic. It is the first Saw film directed by Kevin Greutert since Saw 3D in 2010, and the first entry edited by Greutert since Jigsaw in 2017; the writers of that film and 2021's Spiral, Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger, also return. Often as a point of criticism, the trap plots of this movie and the previous one are parallels to each other. “Saw X” takes what made the original 2004 film great and adds questions of morality and what it means to truly appreciate life.
